GOLDEN GIRLS Funko POP! Vinyl Figures Are Officially Coming

Update: Our pals at Oh My Disney have shared the official photos of the Golden Girls Funko line, and we could not love them more. Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia hit stands, stores, and sites in July, but in the meantime, take a peek at the figures in the gallery below!

Although they were cruelly denied their own LEGO sets recently (what’s up with that, LEGO??), it’s now official: everyone’s favorite cheesecake-eating senior citizens, The Golden Girls, will finally be getting their own line of Funko POP! vinyl figures in 2016.

Rumors of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia getting the Funko treatment surfaced a few months back, but now we have the visual proof at last. A preview image of what the figures will look like showed up last weekend when Instagram user—and Funko Pop! fan—ryespops shared some concept art from Funko’s newest catalog, featuring mock-up images of south Florida’s favorite geriatric foursome.

Although you can’t make out too many details on the preview images, you can see that Dorothy has her arms crossed in an annoyed fashion (someone must have brought up Stan), Sophia is wearing her signature huge glasses, and Rose and Blanche… pretty much look as much like as Rose and Blanche as you can get without having any facial features to speak of. There’s no release date yet for the figures, but the catalog assures us they are coming at some point this year. Until these come out, we’re just going to have to make do with endless Golden Girls re-runs on Lifetime and generous amounts of cheesecake.

Along with the Golden Girls, other retro ’80s favorites heading our way from Funko this year are Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The A-Team, and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. And I have a feeling those won’t be the only ones. Can Punky Brewster be far behind?? (Note to Funko: I don’t really need Punky Brewster figures. Dynasty on the other hand…)

You can check out the preview image for the new Golden Girls vinyl figures below.
