Getting Into the Action with the Cast of BIG HERO 6

This weekend, your choices at the box office are watching a boy and his robot save San Fransokyo or a man and his robot save humanity. Interstellar may have a stunning space odyssey, but it’s the heart of a Hiro that you should really focus on as you look for a way to unwind from the week that was. Big Hero 6 is fun, full of visual spectacle and has some incredibly original and unique characters. I traveled to Disney Animation studios in Burbank to talk with the folks behind the new Marvel-based adventure and the voice cast of the team.

The cast, which includes TJ Miller (Cashing In w/ TJ Miller), Damon Wayans Jr, Genesis Rodriguez, Jamie Chung and directors Don Hall & Chris Williams filled us in on their characters, what it means to be part of a Disney Animated movie, and how the film bridges cultures while defying stereotypes.

Big Hero 6 follows the adventures of Hiro and Baymax as they try to overcome personal loss to be the saviors of San Fransokyo. Hiro and his trusted robot partner, along with their hyper brilliant friends, create super hero identities using their love of science. Filled with a creative and intelligent spirit, the movie will hopefully be the spark for a new wave of kids loving science, but if it doesn’t it’s still a really fun movie.

Big Hero 6 is in theaters now.
