Get Your First Look at TERMINATOR: GENESIS

With the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past now behind us, audiences are looking to Hollywood for the next major time travel based release: enter Terminator: Genesis (before you jump us, how time travel based is Edge of Tomorrow really?). The upcoming sequel/reboot to the James Cameron action franchise has been very hush-hush since production began. All we know about the plot so far is that the film will feature new forms of Sarah Connor, John Connor, Kyle Reese and a returning Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the infamous T-800. Thankfully though, thanks to The Daily Mail, the world has now gotten its first look at the new character iterations via four leaked set photos:

First of all, let’s note the T-800’s new gear. The black leather and sunglasses have apparently been swapped for… khaki? Sure, we’ll go with it; older terminator, fresh clothes. The leather was very 80s anyway. What’s more important here, however, is the photo that features Jason Clark, Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney together in the same frame. Think about that for a moment. Clarke and Courtney are playing Sarah and Kyle respectively while Clark is playing John. That means, for the first time in franchise history, father, mother and son will all be on screen together at the same time.

Did your heads just explode? Ours did.

Terminator: Genesis is definitely starting to look like a major shift in direction for the franchise. Supposedly, the ultimate goal of the new films (and announced companion TV series) is to make the entire franchise (Sarah Connor Chronicles included) make cohesive sense. Now, if the creative team can pull that off, they can just have all our money forever – or until Skynet rises up and takes us over. Whichever comes first.

What do you think of the new photos? Let us know in the comments below.

i want to see old arnold fight young arnold.

    • Dan says:

The characters all have to be young and beautiful irrespective of logic in today’s summer movie land or the teenie boppers won’t show up to waste their money on yet another crappy reboot.

we all want to know what foods a terminator eats?

  3. jeffcombs7 says:

i want to see arnold with battle damage

  4. Arnold is no T-800, he is the guy who Skynet will use to create the T-800’s series.

  5. David Linde says:

    Yarrrrhh….Mother of Draaagahns ahhnd Vahrrro!

  6. Beau Rosser says:

To be fair, Terminator, T2, and Sarah Conner Chronicles do make sense together as cannon. And Sarah Conner Chronicles retconned T3. Salvation is weird, but who cares about that movie, really?

    • Merrill Barr says:

Chronicles didn’t retcon 3. It is considered an alternate timeline all together (at least that’s the last I heard when the new TV show was announced). Salvation is a direct sequel to 3.

  7. It’s Jason CLARKE, just like Emilia Clarke. (Though I presume the relation is purely onscreen.) Thanks for the post.
