Quick, someone strap down Malik Forte because he’s about to start foaming at the mouth once he sees this newest Destiny gameplay trailer featuring our first glimpse at the Red Planet itself, Mars. During our time playing both the alpha and the beta, we’ve explored the ruins of Earth and the mysterious corners of the Moon, but this is the first we’re seeing of the planet that gave us films like Total Recall, Ghosts of Mars, and Mars Attacks! (unless you we’re lucky enough to play on the Meridian Bay multiplayer map during the Destiny beta’s Iron Banner event), so naturally we’re more than a little excited.

The newly released trailer shows us glimpses of two of the races that will likely inhabit the Martian surface: the Cabal, a race of beefy humanoids, and the Vex, cybernetic aliens with a propensity for time travel Having poured countless hours into #DatBetaTho and bidding adieu to our dearly departed Guardians, we have been fiending for more information about Activision and Bungie’s gorgeous-looking shooter, and this trailer is definitely feeding our oft-insatiable need.

Destiny comes to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 9, 2014.
