With Battleborn‘s open beta kicking off today on the PlayStation 4, the folks at 2K and Gearbox have released a brand new trailer to get fans excited. The bootcamp-style video stars two of the upcoming games’ playable heroes, Oscar Mike, and ISIC, who give fans the 411 on what to expect in the shooter. If you’ve been dying to know more about the game, or ya know, how you’re going to “sort through all of the chaos at the end of the universe,” check out the video above.
As expected, the clip is over-the-top, and full of all the cheesiness you’d expect from a Gearbox game. For those who aren’t in the loop, Battleborn is a first-person shooter/MOBA from the minds of the developer behind the Borderlands series. A band of heroes set out to fight to protect the universe’s very last star from a mysterious evil.
The playable character range from cyborgs, to samurai vampires, and mini-gun wielding massive men. It features a story mode (that can be played solo, or cooperatively), various multiplayer modes, and a persistent progression system.
The beta that kicked off today allows players to choose from 25 heroes, rank up through the game’s three progression systems, experience two story mode episodes, and two of the multiplayer modes.
The beta hit the PS4 today at 10am PT/1pm ET, and will become available on April 13 (at the previously mentioned times) on Xbox One and PC. All versions are available for pre-load. The full game is set to launch on May 3.
