Early word has started to come down on the latest Tom Cruise action/adventure outing, Edge of Tomorrow, and thus far the majority whoâve seen it say itâs absolutely excellent. While there was some speculation, the trailers have been selling something really cool and fresh for what was otherwise a fairly standard base premise. To get you even more pumped, Paramount has released a hefty and extensive fifteen minute featurette for the new sci-fi film, and we have it for you here:
Thatâs a lot of epic alien fighting right there.
Initially, Edge of Tomorrow felt a little been-there-done-that. But whatâs becoming clear is it only felt that way because you canât condense a lot of the nuance we see in this featurette into a two and a half minute trailer. A trailer has to be clean: dude is repeating days over and over again when he dies, and must figure out a way to stop it in order to win a war against aliens. You canât get much further than that without going into all the specific dynamics of the film, so in this case, releasing a featurette like this is not a bad move for Paramount.
A personal favorite in the video is that training montage. There seems to be lot of comedy all over that one, so we canât wait to see it play out on the big screen.
Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters June 6th.
