Things have been rocky for the criminal mastermind known as Red Reddington in the first two episodes of The Blacklistâs sophomore season. First, the man with exceptional taste for hats had to track down a bounty hunter by the name of Lord Baltimore, only to discover it wasnât he who was the target, but rather his ex-wife. Following her kidnapping, Red watched as his new arch-nemeses, Berlin, tortured him the same way Berlin was tortured so many years ago when  his daughter was mailed back to him âpiece by piece.â Finally, Red went on the offensive by snatching up all of Berlinâs cash-flow to bargain for the life of his former lover. Luckily for her, it paid off and sheâs safe once again.
This week, in “Dr. James Covington,â the F.B.I. task force will work to track down an elusive organ transplant surgeon who’s killing innocent civilian in order to sell their parts (there seems to be a theme happening here) on the black market. As they do, Red will learn his continued war with Berlin has made him a target to an unknown group with a single goal: Reddingtonâs extermination.
Last weekâs episode was one of the more well executed ones since âAnslo Garrick: Part I,â and while this weekâs episode appears to be taking the more one and done episodic approach, it still looks like Monday night is going to be a heck of a good time for all Blacklist fans out there.
The Blacklist airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC.
