This June, the Hulk is getting an all-new ongoing series with prolific artist Alan Davis at the helm. Savage Hulk #1, out June 25th, puts the Excalibur and Clandestine writer-artist in charge of a new series whose first arc will pit the Hulk against the X-Men.
According to the solicit (below), as some previously bit of history shared between the late Professor X and Bruce Banner causes the team to come after old purple pants. Davis will be writing and illustrating with a cover by John Cassaday.
This would be a return to the X-Men for the writer, who worked on a handful of issues of Uncanny X-Men in the late 80’s and early 90’s before taking over for 14 issues and an annual between 1999 and 2000. Really, it’s his five year stint on Excalibur you should seek out, offering plenty of magic and trans-dimensional mayhem in the United Kingdom (and one of my personal favorite eras on any book).
