Well, here’s something everyone saw coming; Gears of War 4 was finally announced today at Microsoft’s E3 Xbox Conference. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until Holiday 2016 to get your hands on it, but at least we finally have an official announcement. Despite the this not being much of a surprise, we never expected to actually get a gameplay preview. The footage looked graphically crisp, the classic gunplay also made an appearance, but what was actually going on in the story is still unknown.
Watch the full trailer above. Development team, The Coalition, has been teasing this for a while now and revealing their latest work in this manner was brilliant. Everything looked like Gears, so I think fans can rest assured that this will stay true to its roots.
Along with that announcement, the Coalition also announced that Gears of War Ultimate Edition will be out, August 25th of this year. This is a remaster of the title that started it all, it will be running at a buttery smooth 60 fps and will be hitting the 1080p mark. Better yet, the beta is available today.
What do you think of the gameplay they showed off? Are you excited to finally know it is coming? Let us know in the comments below.
