It will be a good week on the Nerdist Podcast Network. I know, I always say that. AND I’M ALWAYS RIGHT. Plus, we have a brand new show starting up, and another show’s increasing its frequency, so we’re already ahead of the game. To wit (subject to changes, because you never know):
We’ll have a double dose of the Nerdist Podcast this week. First, Gary Oldman will drop in to talk about his spectacular career, projects he’s working on, his new movie Criminal, sobriety, and his friend David Bowie. And then, on Thursday,Sir Patrick Stewart will return once again in advance of Green Room, and he’s always a great interview.
Also doubling up this week is The Jonah Keri Podcast, and that’s because Jonah, who has been insistent upon ignoring my advice that he works too hard, is going to a twice-a-week schedule. So there’s double the fun, and this week, we get Jonah’s talk with his role model, fellow Montrealer, and now Sports Illustrated colleague Michael Farber about the good ol’ days of the Expos, Canadiens, and everything Montreal. And on the second episode of the week, it’s Everything’s Coming Up Podcast hosts Julia Prescott and Allie Goertz to talk about what they always talk about, The Simpsons. (And we should mention here that our very own Kyle Clark was just on their show. And so was Jonah.) (UPDATE: The doubling has been delayed by a week due to unforeseen circumstances. So you’ll get one of these on Friday, and the other will come your way NEXT week. That’s why we do that “subject to changes” disclaimer. Also, AAAAAAAUGH.)
Oh, speaking of Nerdist Sports, that’s where our latest show comes in. If you are a hockey fan, you know Greg Wyshynski from Puck Daddy at Yahoo! Sports and from the Marek vs. Wyshynski podcast. You also know Davril Lavignezo, probably as Dave Lozo, for writing about hockey pretty much everywhere. So, we have them both for Puck Soup, debuting this week right on time for the NHL playoffs. If you listen to Marek vs. Wyshynski, well, you know the Wednesday show, that kind of goes off on tangents? That’s what Puck Soup will be about, and for their debut on Thursday, they’ll have FS1’s awesome Katie Nolan with them, so you can expect the Bruins to come up. And having them on board means I can make references in these columns to the Flyers’ progress in the playoffs (I’m just glad they decided to stop losing at the most inopportune moment and win when they had to. Guys, it’s been over 40 years….).
What else? We have Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s fierce Det. Rosa Diaz, Stephanie Beatriz, on Today We Learned, and Nasty Gal/#GirlBoss founder Sophia Amoruso on Love, Alexi.
And a lot more. Go to the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page and don’t forget to subscribe via your favorite podcatching app. You keep listening, we’ll keep making ’em.
