Feeling desperate for a revolution? Well, Garbage and Blondie have heard our distress calls and will join forces for one perfectly timed co-headlining tour. The Rage and Rapture Tour will span across the U.S. this summer, starting out in Saratoga, CA and ending in Dallas, TX.
Recently, it seems like loads of throwback favorites are hitting the road in the coming year, like Radiohead’s upcoming international tour. And we’re totally okay with this trend! The two legendary rock bands always bring their A-game to countless concerts across the ages, with each band boasting a stellar discography including new additions.
Garbage’s latest album, Strange Little Birds, is the perfect entry point and wave of nostalgia for new and veteran fans, full of their trademark grit and rage remade for this generation. Blondie’s forthcoming eleventh studio album, Pollinator, hits stores on May 5th, promising new collaborations with Sia, The Strokes’ Nick Valensi, former Smiths’ guitarist Johnny Marr, and–here’s a fun one–Bobâs Burgers voice actor/comedian, John Roberts. Pollinator is definitely going to be packed with dance tracks and revolution rock anthems, like their latest single, “Fun.” The band is currently on tour in Australia and New Zealand with Cyndi Lauper. Don’t worry though, die hard fans–old hits aren’t off the table with these bands cause history proves that they love old-school cool.
So, get your wallet and fan password ready (psst, RAGEANDRAPTURE, be sure to sign-up for the each band’s official mailing lists for more insider info) cause those coveted pre-sale tickets via Ticketmaster (which are available to most markets) are going to go fast. Tickets officially open to the public on Friday, February 17. Are you ready to rage and revel in the rapture of Garbage and Blondie this summer?
