When it comes to dressing up our house for Halloween most of us stick with the old standbys. Maybe we put a jack-o’-lantern or two on our steps or in our windows, and we spread some fake spider webs over our bushes, but clearly we have been doing it all wrong by merely decorating our house, because it turns out we should have been making the house itself a decoration. Just like this ingenious woman who turned her garage door into a giant, man-eating monster.
We came across this very cool Halloween decoration at Sploid, and it was made by Amanda Destro Pierson, who transformed her garage using some scary looking creature eyes, adding teeth to the bottom of her black garage door, and having a top row of stationary teeth attached above the door. The effect is that when the garage door opens it looks like a house-sized beast chomping down.
Huge bonus points for the sign she placed next to the garage that says, “Political canvassers will be fed to the monster,” because there is nothing scarier out there this Halloween season. Since her garage went viral, she also plans on mass-producing kits so that you can do this yourself next year.
Oh, but if you think this looks cool during the day, wait until you see it all lit up in red at night.
Just turn off those inside lights and we are sure this will terrify any kid that comes trick-or-treating . What better compliment could you give a Halloween decoration?
