Gaming Daily: Watch Shaq and Kenny Smith Duke it Out in MORTAL KOMBAT X

Earlier today, we discussed the Mortal Kombat X Tanya DLC a bit further, but fortunately that was not the only news coming out of Outworld. In today’s Gaming Daily, Shaq and Kenny Smith duke it out in Mortal Kombat X; the upcoming horror title Among the Sleep is coming to both Xbox One and PS4; and 343 Industries comments on the Halo: ODST Xbox One release date.

Shaq loses his mind while playing Mortal Kombat X with Kenny Smith

Before I start, I’ll give you a second to admire Shaq’s amazing reaction in the image above. LOOK AT HIS FACE! Ahem, anyways. While scrolling through Twitter earlier this morning, I came across one of Ed Boon’s tweets linking to the video at the top of the page. Obviously enticed by the fact that it featured former NBA ballers-turned-TV basketball analysts Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny “The Jet” Smith going head to head in Mortal Kombat X, I clicked the link and wasn’t disappointed.

While Shaq stuck with the slow moving  Jason Vorhees the whole time, Kenny switched it up a bit more, alternating between Ferra/Torr, Kotal Khan, and finally Sub-Zero, who he used to defeat his competition. While watching them kick some serious butt was fun, it was the commentary that made it. Aside from the facial expressions, Shaq’s comment, “Slice him up. Slice him up like some cheese”, was pretty great.

Though this matchup was hilarious, I think we can all agree that a throwdown between Shaq and Charles Barkley would have been even better. Mostly, I just want to hear the duo’s competitive banter during the match.

Among the Sleep is coming to the Xbox One

Boy, we really seem to be swimming in horror game announcements this week. Earlier today, Killbrite Studio revealed that its bizarre, frightening first-person title, Among the Sleep — which hit PC last year — would be creeping its way on to the Xbox One as well as the PS4, where it will be one of the first games to support Sony’s VR headset Morpheus.

Just in case you’re having a tough time recalling the title, Among the Sleep is a unique game in which the player wanders around a creepy nightmare world as a two-year-old looking for his mommy. By his side for the disturbing adventure is a teddy bear who has come to life. Though it was received relatively well, it lost points for the underwhelming ending.

At the moment, the studio hasn’t set a release date for the Xbox One or PS4 versions but they noted that they’re “working closely with both Microsoft and Sony, and will release more information as soon as we have it.”

HALO ODST REMASTER 05272015

343 Industries says Halo: ODST Xbox One Listing not final

Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise. Yesterday, a listing on the Xbox.com Marketplace (which has since been removed) revealed that the Halo: ODST campaign for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection would be coming to the Xbox One come May 29, 2015. Considering the fact that the date is only a few days away, most figured the date was incorrect.

In response, the official Twitter page for Halo responded with the following tweets:

So, it looks like Halo fans will have to wait a bit longer to hear when they’ll be able to get their hands on ODST.
