To say the last couple of weeks have been extremely busy in the gaming world would be an understatement. As if Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain wasn’t enough to hold you over for a good while, titles like Mad Max (check out our review right here), Tearaway: Unfolded (one of my absolute favorite Vita games), and Disney Infinity 3.0 also hit retailers recently. Things are only going to heat up with the likes of Destiny: The Taken King, Fifa 16, NBA 2K16, LEGO Dimensions, Forza 6 all in close proximity. First world problems, am I right? Hopefully you’re doing your best with time management so that your backlog doesn’t get too unmanageable. Onwards to the business at hand. In today’s Gaming Daily: watch a sealed PlayStation get unboxed, Fallout 4 DLC plans detailed, we discuss who Bowser Jr.’s mother is, enjoy the 20 years of PlayStation with a PSN sale, and a LinkedIn profile reveals the existence of Kingdom Hearts 2.9.
Unboxing a sealed PlayStation
Can you believe it has been 20 years since the magical gray box made its way into North American homes. On September 9, 1995, the original PlayStation hit retailers here in North America. Doesn’t that make you feel old? Sony is celebrating the day by unboxing a sealed PlayStation. Finding a sealed original PlayStation is extremely rare, so enjoy the video above.
Included in the box is the classic console, the original controller (with no dual-analogue sticks), and a rare demo disc that included footage featuring interviews with developers. A sweet package, indeed.
Getting ahold of one of these non-opened consoles costs a pretty penny on the secondhand market, but there’s nothing quite like getting ahold of an untouched console. It’s still incredible that PlayStation is now 20 years old here in NA. Who would have ever thought that it would still be going this strong? I still think the 20th Anniversary special edition Ps4 was the best part of the celebration, but it was difficult to get ahold of one. The good news is you can now nab the gray PS4 controller and headset in stores now. That way, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get some of that old school love in your living room.

Fallout 4 DLC plans detailed
We are only a couple of months away from what could be the most hyped title of the year, Fallout 4. Bethesda thought now would be a great time to discuss their plans for the game post-release. DLC will be incoming early next year, but you can purchase a $30 season pass that will include all of the content ever made. The studio guarantees the value to be at least $40, so getting on board early can save you $10 if you plan on downloading everything. No word on what the DLC will actually be–considering Bethesda hasn’t even started on it. That’s just the time we live in. In other words, wait to at least know what you’re purchasing. We also now know that mods will be supported on the PS4 some time after the Xbox One. Finally, the team behind the title will also be pushing out free updates that may include new features along with fixes. Mods and updates sound like an exciting way of making a huge experience that much larger.

Who is Bowser Jr.’s Mother
Who in the Mushroom Kingdom is Bowser Jr.’s mother? These are the types of hard-hitting questions that have been a mystery for far too long. As part of Mario‘s 30th anniversary, the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto will be tackling some of the myths that have circulated the Mushroom Kingdom, tomorrow. A video was posted earlier on Nintendo UK’s official YouTube, teasing tomorrow’s shenanigans. Take a gander at it above.
As for the main question posed, there are several rumors as to who birthed Bowser Jr. For one, Bowser supposedly told his son that Princess Peach was his mother. Though it’s been refuted and debunked before, this outcome would add a wild twist to the franchise. I’m just excited to put all the speculation behind us, come tomorrow. How else are we supposed to focus on other worldly issues with something this urgent looming over our heads. We will keep you updated with tomorrow’s unveilings.

There’s a 20th Anniversary PlayStation Sale now in progress.
If you’ve had a couple of bucks burning through your digital wallet, now may be the time to let some cash loose. Sony is celebrating 20 years of PlayStation here in North America by hosting a pretty massive sale on all sorts of games on PSN. There are so many games on sale, it’s hard to dwindle it down to a couple of highlights. At the moment, the PS4 titles look great, you can get Diablo 3 on the cheap. Throw in some Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, and you’ll be spending less than $35 dollars on both combined if you’re a PS Plus subscriber. There’s also some PSP classics like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, just in case you want to catch up on some of the story before playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The range and variety of titles is quite impressive.

LinkedIn Profile reveals the existence of Kingdom Hearts 2.9 for the PS4.
Here’s a fresh rumor for you: an ex-Square Enix employee may have just inadvertently revealed that a game is in the works titled Kingdom Hearts 2.9. The information was found on the ex-employee’s LinkedIn profile by KH13 in which the employee lists himself or herself as a game designer for the aforementioned game, which is said to be coming to the PS3/PS4. Keep in mind that this information is coming from a LinkedIn profile which could have been fabricated. We won’t know for sure until Square Enix confirms or denies the findings.
Here’s the screenshot of the page taken by Destructoid:
The title and platforms suggests it’s a collection of all the games in one package. The PS4 has yet to receive the previous games in the Kingdom Hearts series, so it would be a great time to release a collection prior to the Kingdom Hearts 3. Though, it makes much less sense for the PS3 since two collections of the franchise have already been released. If these findings are true, it seems like Xbox owners are out of luck.
Another interesting tidbit from the profile is the Kingdom Hearts 3 information. There’s apparently a multiplayer component coming to the highly anticipated installment that this person helped plan. What exactly that entails is again, unclear. What could a multiplayer mode look like? We will keep you updated if Square Enix decides to speak on the matter.

That’s it for today, folks. Despite not having much information other than a LinkedIn profile, I think the likelihood of a Kingdom Hearts collection coming to the PS4 is high. We will have to wait for Square Enix to clarify the situation. Would you purchase another Kingdom Hearts collection? Which titles would you like to be bundled in? Let us know in the comments below.
