Gaming Daily: Try Upcoming DESTINY Multiplayer Maps and Modes for Free Next Week

It’s been a busy past couple of weeks. We’ve not only seen the launch of Until Dawn (which we loved), Mad Max, and Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but also survived PAX Prime where we were able to learn more about Cliff Bleszinski’s Lawbreakers, and For Honor–which we wrote a preview on–among a ton of other things. In the midst of so much goodness, it’s hard to keep track of it all as it comes in. That’s where we come in. In today’s Gaming Daily, Bungie is allowing fans the chance to get their hands on Destiny’s new multiplayer maps and modes completely free of charge next week, there’s a PS4 bundle dropping alongside Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Street Fighter V’s Rainbow Mika has a cool two-hit victory move that looks impossible to execute.

The Taken King

Bungie is allowing fans to try out new Destiny multiplayer maps and modes for free next week.

We’re nearing the official launch of Destiny’s big fall expansion The Taken King, which will be launching on September 15. Along with revealing more details about the Court of Oryx during yesterday’s weekly update on the Bungie Blog, the developer also announced that players will be able to try out the upcoming multiplayer maps and modes in what they’re calling the “Crucible Preview Event,” completely free of charge.

This is good news (and a smart advertising move on Bungie’s part) for those who are unsure whether or not they want to fork over $40 for the expansion. The event itself will take place as soon as Patch 2.0 drops on September 8, and will run until September 14–which is the day before The Taken King launches.

Bear in mind, however, that you’ll have to download the 20 GB update for this to work. If you’re looking to jump back into Destiny in preparation for the expansion, this is the perfect opportunity.

PS4 Bundle to release alongside Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

When you consider the popularity of Sony’s Uncharted franchise, and the publisher’s track record for bundling entries in the series with PlayStation consoles, this bit of news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. According to a post on the PlayStation blog, A PS4 bundle will be launching on October 9, which is the same day that Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection drops.

Uncharted PS4 Bundle

The bundle will include the 500 GB PS4, one dual shock 4, a digital download code for the collection, and will retail for $399.99. There isn’t really anything special about the included console, aside from the fact that it is the CUH-1200 model, which is a bit lighter and consumes less energy than the original.

In addition to the bundle reveal, Sony gave fans a first look at the collection’s TV spot–which you can check out above the image of the bundle. It’s not as sentimental as the trailer they released a few weeks ago, but it’s still got us feeling some sweet emotions.

R. Mika’s Two Hit victory move looks cool but impossible to execute.

When Rainbow Mika was revealed last week, there was a lot of talk about her appearance and the moves she was planning on bringing into the ring once Street Fighter V released.  Although one of the highlights of her new move-set involved her tag-team partner Nadeshiko, it was the V-Skill called “Mic Performance” that I wanted to learn more about, and see in action. Luckily, the folks from the Khaos Gaming YouTube channel were on the scene at PAX prime 2015 and were able to capture the video above.

According to what Capcom has told us, once R. Mika triggers the move, she’ll be able to build power by giving a charismatic speech to the crowd. As the video shows, the two-hit knock out requires the blonde fighter to recite a 16 second soliloquy without getting hit. If she’s able to do that, taking care of her opponent is a piece of cake.

The only thing that worries me is that it looks like it will be impossible to execute, unless, of course, whoever you’re up against stands there and does nothing. Whatever the case, it looks pretty cool. R. Mika will be a powerful force to reckon with if you can master her moves. Do you have what it takes?
