Shenmue 3 Reaches $5.5 Million in Backing
Boy this title has been the headlines a lot since it was announced during E3 last month. It was already impressive how much money people were throwing at the project, but it was revealed today that the campaign–which has generated $5,553,470–has become the highest crowdfunded video game on the Kickstarter platform. This title was recently held by Castlevania creator Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which raised a whopping $5,545.991.
On a wider scope, the game is the 8th most funded project of any kind on Kickstarter. Other notable projects are Pebble Time ($20,338,986), The Veronica Mars Movie Project ($5,702,153) and the Ouya ($8,596,474).

Dragon’s Crown Developer Vanillaware is teasing a new project to be revealed on July 20th.
Well this is a pleasant surprise. Vanillaware, the company responsible for developing games like Muramasa and Dragon’s Crown, has plans to announce a new game in a few days.  This news comes courtesy of an official Atlus Games/Vanillaware website which teases the date July 20, 2015 from Boston.
Amidst the Japanese text at the top of the page also lies the term “HD”. Considering the fact that Atlus published the PS3/Vita versions of Dragon’s Crown, does this mean we’re getting an HD port?
There is also some speculation that the project could be an HD remake of the PS2 JRPG Odin Sphere, which also just so happens to have been published by Atlus. It could always be a new project, but I suppose we’ll just have to wait a few more days to find out.

The new Witcher 3 patch is finally here and it’s going to take up a massive amount of space.
I have some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is that the huge Witcher 3 update developer CD Projekt Red has been teasing is finally here. The bad news? Well, the patch is going to take up a whole 7.5GB of space. If you’ve been juggling hard drive space like I have–and to be honest, pretty much everybody with a new console–you’ll know just how massive this truly is.
On a more positive note, the update will be fixing a lot of bugs that have plagued the game since it launched. We’ll also be getting several new additions and logical tweaks that will help the game run smoother.
The lengthy list detailing the patch notes just goes to show how receptive the company has been about issues thus far. I’ve yet to download the update myself yet so I’m not sure how well everything works, but if anything’s amiss I’ll let you know.

AMD might be making the processor for Nintendo’s NX
This bit of news is certainly interesting. According to reports around the web, it sounds like the Nintendo NX might be developed with an AMD processor. Considering the fact that the companies already worked together on the Wii U’s processor, this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Back in December, AMD’s chief financial adviser Devinder Kumar was quoted as saying, âI will say that one [design win] is x86 and [another] is ARM, and at least one will [be] beyond gaming, right,â said Kumar, chief financial officer of AMD, at the Raymond James Financial technology conference. âBut that is about as much as you going to get out me today. From the standpoint [of being] fair to [customers], it is their product, and they launch it. They are going to announce it and then [â¦] you will find out that it is AMDâs APU that is being used in those products.â
Just today, AMD chief executive Lisa Su confirmed a third semi-custom chip contract for a project that could potentially be worth billions of dollars. Whatever it is, I doubt we’ll find out considering how tight lipped Nintendo has been on the matter. I guess we will just have to wait and find out.
