Gaming Daily: Retailer To Sell An RC MARIO KART That Hovers

Alas, we’ve survived another week and made it safely to Friday. While the internet was set ablaze after Twitchcon was revealed earlier this morning, that’s not all that happened today and we’re here to fill you in on what you may have missed. In today’s Gaming Daily, US retailer JAKKS is promoting a RC Mario Kart that appears to hover, Final Fantasy XV is only 60% complete, and a recent video gives us a closer look at the monsters of Bloodborne.

Super Cool Mario Kart toy to be sold by JAKKS.

While we’re still waiting on real hover toys, this Nintendo treasure promoted by US retailer JAKKS will have to do for now. The toy–which will retail at a whopping $100 when it’s made available–is a remote controlled Mario Kart that goes into anti-gravity mode, a feature showcased in Mario Kart 8.

Once the car transforms, the wheels actually rotate sideways and continue to spin as Mario slides along the floor. If you’re willing to fork over a huge chunk of change, the awesome car comes with a wireless controller with a range of up to 100 feet.

Final Fantasy XV is only 60% done.

Well, I guess we can’t say we didn’t see this coming. During a recent Final Fantasy XV demo, Hajime Tabata revealed that the company was only 60% done with development. This news comes as a bit of a disappointment considering the fact that Tabata made a similar announcement back in September of 2014 remarking that the game was 55% complete.

Luckily, the director commented that he didn’t think it would take long to get to 80%. After that, he added, the last twenty percent should pretty much fall into place. After seeing how long it took for the developers to knock another 5% out of the way, let’s hope they pick up the pace soon.

Aside from that disappointing news, Tabata released a 45 minute game play video of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae demo. He also revealed that the full map for the game will be 10-20 times larger than the one in the demo and that the game’s title screen will change based on the real time of day. Cool!

The demo will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 March 17, 2015 but will unfortunately be limited to those who purchase Final Fantasy Type-O HD.

In addition to a brand new story trailer released by Sony, some of the gruesome beasts of From Software’s upcoming PS4 exclusive Bloodborne have hit the web. The video comes courtesy of IGN, which has been posting exclusive videos this whole month leading up to the game’s March 24th release.

The video above shows just how punishing these horrifying beasts will be. If you’re a fan of the Souls series or have even attempted to play one of the games in the successful franchise, you’ll know these developers don’t mess around. Even the rats will make your skin crawl!

That’s it for today everybody. Keep Nerdist tabbed for all your upcoming gaming news, reviews and features.
