Predator coming in July MKX 06262015

Mortal Kombat X to gain Predator as DLC character in July.

We already knew he was on his way, but it is now official. Predator will be hunting his way to Mortal Kombat X this July. This news comes courtesy of series creator Ed Boon’s Twitter account earlier this week. Alongside the picture above, Boon tweeted, “Recreate the Predator Movie (Komplete with Carl Weathers Jax) in Mortal Kombat X. Koming Soon…”

He also tweeted the following confirmation of the tease earlier today:

Predator follows in the wake of the Jason Vorhees and Tanya DLC characters that already released. As of right now, we know that Tremor is also due for release, but there is no news as to when we’ll be seeing him.

Predator, like the rest of the characters available in the $30 in the Kombat Pack, will also be released separately if you’re looking to save a buck or two or aren’t interested in the rest.

Nintendo is staying silent about NX to keep ideas from competitors.

Well isn’t this interesting. According to an unofficial translation, when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata was asked about the split between the NX and Wii U during a recent shareholder’s meeting, he explained that if the company opened up about the NX, competitors might steal their ideas.

Find out what else he said in our full report on Iwata’s comments.

Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy_Stalking

Horizon: Zero Dawn has a bigger budget than The Last Guardian.

This is definitely interesting. According to a comment Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida made to Eurogamer earlier today, Guerrilla Games’ upcoming open world action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn actually has a bigger budget than The Last Guardian.

When asked about the lengthy development time, and whether it was one of the most expensive game Sony has ever developed, Yoshida responded: “No, no, not at all.” He explained. “The team is much smaller. Teams in Japan are much smaller in general than teams in the US and Europe… Horizon is a much bigger budget title than The Last Guardian! It’s not so small, it’s much bigger than Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, but it’s not a US or European-style budget.”

On his feelings about the game’s presence at E3 this year, he stated, “Yeah, I was super happy. Actually, after the show I had dinner with Yu Suzuki-san, and Hashimoto-san, the head of the Final Fantasy franchise, and all three of us were super happy! A great, great evening. But the morning after the reality sets in… because we announce, we have to deliver. So I am feeling pressure!”

It doesn’t come as too big of a surprise that Guerrilla was given more money for their new IP. Let’s just hope both titles continue to impress just as they did at E3 this year.

Rocksteady Helping Iron Galaxy fix Batman: Arkham Knight PC version.

While the week started out on a high for Rocksteady’s final Batman title, things took a turn for the worse earlier this week when the game was pulled from Steam for horrendous frame-rate drops and game-breaking glitches. Thankfully, the PC version of the game isn’t doomed as Rocksteady is reportedly “working like crazy” to help Iron Galaxy fix the game.

Graphics card manufacturer Nvidia is also reportedly helping, and has told Eurogamer that they are “working with WB Games and the development teams to address the performance issues of the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. We have made our QA and engineering resources available and will provide updates when they are available.”

Not every phone will fit in the Limited Edition Fallout 4 Pip-Boy

If you were one of the many people who ended up snagging the iPhone 6+ (or a phone of a similar size) and have the Pip-Boy edition of Fallout 4 pre-ordered, I have some very bad news for you. According to the Bethesda blog, your phone will not fit in the device.

They state, “The Pip-Boy included will have foam inserts that fit iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and Samsung Galaxy 4. In addition, using the customizable foam insert you should be able to fit most other popular smartphone devices.  As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device.  For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.”

Additionally, for those who haven’t pre-ordered the collector’s edition, I have some more bad news. GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon are already sold out in the United States and Canada. They’re in the midst of getting inventory for Europe, so if you live in that territory, keep your fingers, toes, and anything else thats crossable, crossed–just not your eyes, because as a wise woman once told me, ‘they might get stuck like that’.
