GAMING DAILY: How to Look Like Daenerys Targaryen in DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION

Happy Nintendo Day everybody! I know, I know: you probably want to get back to playing Super Smash Bros. on your Wii U or back to catching them all in Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire but until then, I’ve got a couple of fun news highlights for the day. In today’s Gaming Daily, a player recreated Daenerys Targaryen in Dragon Age: Inquisition, GameStop reveals how they pulled off their ten year old Super Smash Bros. prodigy stunt, and Riot Games announces the Bug Bounty program for League of Legends.

Reddit User Created Daenerys Targaryen.

If you’ve yet to create a character in Dragon Age: Inquisition or are still in the midst of designing one, this one may be for you. Reddit user killerwok has successfully recreated the famed Mother of Dragons using the game’s character creator. With the word “dragon” in the title, this one couldn’t be more appropriate.

For those unaware, Daenerys Targaryen, portrayed by Emilia Clarke on the HBO adaptation, is a character from George R.R. Martin’s popular Game of Thrones series. If you’re familiar with the series at all, you’ll notice how beautifully accurate this creation is. Luckily, after receiving a lot of praise for his work, killerwok has shared step by step instructions on how to achieve the same look.

GameStop revealed how they faked the Karissa The Destroyer stunt

Yes, the footage that emerged earlier this month featuring a 10 year old Super Smash Bros. prodigy was a publicity stunt by GameStop. After about two weeks of rumors, the company has finally released a video detailing how they pulled it off.

What supposedly happened at a random GameStop location was completely staged–if you couldn’t tell by the terrible acting and known professional Smash Bros. competitors all happening to show up at the same location. The video above shows how they successfully stashed an older player behind the demo kiosk while the 10 year old dubbed Karissa the Destroyer kicked some serious butt and left both competitors and  the crowd puzzled.

Riot Games introduced the Bug Bounty program.

After a recent security breach they failed to receive fast enough, Riot games has decided to pay those who find security weaknesses in League of Legends in a program they are calling “Bug Bounty.”

“No software connected to the internet can be considered 100 percent secure. We know that smart people all over the world poke at our software, websites and infrastructure, looking for weaknesses. Some will successfully find security vulnerabilities,” Riot stated on an official blog post. “When this happens, it’s critical that we become aware of the vulnerability ASAP so that we can fix it before it’s widely abused.

According to the blog post, the program is still in closed beta but will later be available to the rest of the community.
