Gaming Daily: Final Fantasy XV Will Be a True Open-World Game

It’s been a rather slow day for important developments in the world of gaming, but that’s not stopping us from keeping the train moving with Gaming Daily. On this most excellent Thursday, we’ll check out an interesting NBA 2K15 glitch that would make Chris Pratt smile from ear to ear, and we’ll look at some interesting information about Final Fantasy XV. Shall we, my dear friends?

Final Fantasy XV will be a true open-world experience.

According to Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, the game will be a a true-open world experience, as opposed to featuring open-world gameplay. Though you won’t have access to the entire world of Final Fantasy XV right off the bat, rest assured that when you do, you’ll notice that Square Enix created a massive play area for fans to enjoy. Sounds to me like some fast traveling is in order.

If you’re scratching your head on what exactly that means, let me break it down for you. While titles like Destiny and the 2013 Tomb Raider feature open-world gameplay that takes place in various sandbox environments, games like Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto V would be considered true open-world experiences since they take place in one big, connected sandbox that isn’t tied together by loading screens. This ultimately means that exploration will likely play a big part in Final Fantasy XV, which has potential to make this one of the best in the series. Good on you, Mr. Tabata.

NBA 2K15 glitch brings the dinosaur out of NBA stars.

Are you ready for Jurassic World? If not, then I know who is. Players Youtuber wEEman33 came across an interesting glitch which would suggest that the folks at 2K Sports are quite into big dinosaurs. Sounds like utter nonsense, doesn’t it? Catch my drift in the video below:

I’d honestly pay 5 bucks for T-Rex arm DLC, but I guess watching this video will have to suffice for now. Someone send Ronnie2K an email about this already!

That about wraps it for Thursday’s Gaming Daily. Always keep it parked here on Nerdist for all of the juicy video game developments, and to chat about our beloved medium, I’m only one tweet away: @Malik4play.
