Gaming Daily: FALLOUT 4’s First Patch is Here, Available on PC

With the four day weekend (for those in the U.S.) just around the corner, people all around the world are currently trying to figure out whether they’ll be braving the Black Friday crowds, or opting to use their free time to get some much-needed gaming in. I, for one, will be spending most of my time continuing my trek through Bloodborne: The Old Hunters–which releases tomorrow. While I’ve technically beat all of the bosses, there’s so much left to do and see, which is a great indication that the DLC is well worth the $20 price tag. But, before that, we have some news to get through. In today’s Gaming Daily, Fallout 4‘s first patch has been released on PC, our review of Bloodborne‘s newest DLC went live, PS4 remote play is unofficially  available on PC, find out how to enter Nerdist’s 2015 Holiday Gift giveaway, and Capcom unveiled an awesome Day One Steelbook Edition for Street Fighter V.

Fallout 4‘s first patch is here!

Would you look at that! Fallout 4‘s first patch is here. Beta Update 1.2.33 released via Steam today, which means those who’ve been playing on PC will be able to get their hands on a smoother version of the game. As we reported last week, there’s no news on when the update will be hitting the PS4 and Xbox One, but we’re assuming we may know more once the new patch is out of beta.

Take a look at what’s new/fixed:

New Features

  • Number pad keys can now be used for remapping
  • Remapping Activate now works on Quick Container

Fixes

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Fixed issue where equipped weapons become locked after completing Reunions
  • Fixed issue with When Freedom Calls where the quest would not complete
  • During Confidence Man, fixed issue where player’s health would continuously regenerate
  • Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games
  • Fixed issue where Launcher would not save God Rays Quality setting properly

For those who want to try out the changes, you’ll need to follow the steps listed below:

1. Log into Steam
2. Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
3. Select Settings
4. Select Betas
5. A drop down menu will appear. Select Beta Update
6. Select OK.
7. Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update.
8. When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [beta] in your Library

To revert back to normal, repeat the first four steps and select “none” from the drop down menu.

We had a bloody good time with Bloodborne: The Old Hunters.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Bloodborne is by far the best game on the PS4. I raved about the game in my original review, giving it a 5 out of 5 burritos, and the same goes for the title’s first batch of DLC. To put it simply, the game is definitely worth the $20 price tag, as it adds a multitude of new explorable environments, weapons, bosses, enemies, gear and so much more. PS4 Remote Play is going to be available on PC.

PS4 Remote Play on the Vita is great– that is, when you can get it to work. But, if you don’t own Sony’s portable or have struggled with the unstable feature in the past, I have some good news for you. A programmer named Twisted has been working on a project to bring the feature to the PC. He recently took to his blog to reveal that the first version will be made available this Wednesday. But, unlike his previous projects, it won’t be free.

“I’ve been working on this project mostly part time for over a year when the Android version was first released in October 2014. I’ve lost count the amount of hours I’ve put in over this time but I’ve enjoyed every moment working on this project which leads me onto my main point. I’d like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want!” He stated on his blog.

He continued, “The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don’t want to have to but sadly its the only way to support my living costs. On the plus side this means I have more time to work on the project and provide support to its users, something which I’ve been limited on in the past.”

Though the price is still subject to change, he’s thinking of charging around $10 for the feature. If it works well, that sounds like a fair price. For more information and to see it in action, check out the above video and Twisted’s original blog post (linked below).

SFV Steelbook Day One Edition

Capcom unveils the Day One Steelbook Edition of Street Fighter V.

Despite the issues the beta had, we’re pretty excited for Street Fighter V‘s February 16, 2016 release. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole 8 years since Street Fighter IV made it’s debut back in 2008. If you’re in the crowd that plans on picking up the game on launch, I have some great news. Capcom unveiled a snazzy Day One Steelbook edition earlier today. Check it out in the image above.

Additionally, the developer has partnered up with Gamestop to announce a super limited edition (only 400 units) bundle. For $329.98, fans who’re lucky enough to snag one will get the collector’s edition of Street Fighter V, a Ryu figurine, an art book, a Mad Catz limited edition Chun-Li TE 2 Arcade stick, three months of PS+, and more. If you want one of these, I highly suggest pre-ordeing as soon as they’re are made available.
