New GAME OF THRONES Teaser Weaves an Animated Tapestry of Jon, Dany, and Tyrion

For seven seasons Game of Thrones has weaved an intricate story featuring hundreds of memorable characters and thousands of years worth of history. It’s not a tale we are eager to say goodbye to, even as we clamor for the show’s long-awaited final season. A new teaser pays homage to this rich tapestry George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire has crafted, and we mean that literally, stitching together the major players and most important moments from the story.

This gorgeous animated teaser, that we first saw at Winter is Coming, comes from the production company Mirari + Co. They “elaborately designed and hand crafted each scene and character on paper, so they could come together into an epic art piece in whole.” Then, along with quotes from the show, they “utilized advanced particle and rendering effect to showcase the woven process and put together a realistic tapestry craft in CG space.” The end result is a moving piece that covers some of the story’s most important moments, including from when Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark fell in love and the fallout of their secret tryst, as well as the remaining players for the Iron Throne.

Just as beautiful as the teaser is the full image, designed by Deviant Art artist bubug.

We want to hang this tapestry in our own homes so much we might try to learn how to use a loom, that way even when Game of Thrones sews up its story we can still hang on to it.
