Lady Olenna Tyrell may be known as the Queen of Thorns on Game of Thrones, but she could also be called the Queen of Zingers. She delivers quips and barbs like no one else on the series. It’s hard to choose a favorite quote, but “Once the cow’s been milked, there’s no squirting the milk back up her udder” is near the top of my list. Olenna is arguably the most formidable member of the Tyrell family. Who do you think taught Margaery all of her tricks?
The Hollywood Reporter shared a peek at one of the features on the upcoming season three Blu-ray release, and it features Natalie Dormer and Diana Rigg discussing the strength of Lady Tyrell. She can go toe to toe with anyone, and doesn’t even back down from the likes of Tywin Lannister.
It’s satisfying to see the character recognized and respected. I, for one, am on board with an Olenna Tyrell spin-off series. You can see more of the special feature when the Game of Thrones season three Blu-ray is released on February 18th.
