There are potential spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones season 6. If you want to have absolutely no information about the fate of a popular character, then stop reading now! Youâve been warned!
You have to admire Kit Haringtonâs commitment to a bit. Even after HBO has largely given the game away by including Haringtonâs Jon Snow in the first poster and the first teaser for Game of Thrones season 6, Harington still refuses to let go of last seasonâs cliffhanger, which left his character bleeding out after several of his fellow Nightâs Watch brothers fatally stabbed him.
Harington has been ducking the press for months now, but in a new interview with Digital Spy he said, âPeople didnât want me to die, but heâs dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it. â
Sure, Jon Snow is dead for now…but Game of Thrones exists in a world where death isnât necessarily the end. One of the most popular theories about reversing this particular death is that Melisandre will resurrect Jon Snow, even though she previously expressed shock that such a feat was even possible.
In the rest of his interview, Harington was a little bit disingenuous about his involvement in the new season.
âI havenât done Thrones in a while,â said Harington. âI had quite a lot of time off last year. Iâve been taking it easy. And relaxing. When I realized I was doing [Doctor Faustus], I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room. â
We know this isnât entirely truthful, as Harington has been spotted in costume last year on the set of Game of Thrones. That said, it could mean that Harington will only appear sparingly in the new season before his character stages a dramatic comeback.
Game of Thrones season 6 will premiere on April 24.
