GAME OF THRONES’ Cast Share Their Favorite Fan Theories

Cersei Lannister being Jon Snow‘s mother. Roose Bolton is an actual vampire. Everybody at the end ending up dead, except for Littlefinger who will sit upon the Iron Throne ruling an empty realm. Those are some of the craziest and favorite(est) Game of Thrones fan theories from the actors and actresses on the show, though, uh, some of us might not think they are all so crazy.

In this video from MTV International, the cast shared their favorite fan guesses about what will happen or be revealed as true (well, except for Alfie Allen who plays Theon Greyjoy/Reek, who was afraid of naming one that will be true, thus revealing a spoiler–hey, we hear you Alfie, we totally hear you), and they ranged from reasonable to totally out there.

Here’s what they gave with our ranking on how true they might be.

  • Dean Charles Chapman (Tommen Baratheon)–the White Walkers are good

Not as crazy as you think, but crazy.

  • Ian Beattie (Meryn Trant)–Cersei is actually Jon Snow’s mother

Noooooope. Nope. Nope. This is totally crazy.

  • Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton)–his character is a vampire

Whether this is “reasonable” is a matter of semantics. Could Roose Bolton be drinking human blood? Sure. Does that make him a vampire? Depends on whether you think that is all it takes to be considered a vampire, and not the eternal life/mystical part. I say no, he’s not a vampire in the traditional sense, but it wouldn’t stun me that while he does not partake in red wine, he might enjoy a quaff of a different kind of red.

  • Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne)–everyone dies at the end, save for Peter Baelish who ascends the Iron Throne to rule no one

While I think this is totally crazy, it would be awesome in a twisted way.

  • Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth)–Stannis isn’t really dead (on the show)

What’s wrong with this! We didn’t see him die, okay. He could still be alive. He could still be…..he’s dead, isn’t he? He’s totally dead.

Okay, I intentionally saved the first one for last.

  • Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)–any time you see a dragon flying over the Red Keep (in any trailers or visions) that it is really Bran warging into it

You know why this blew her mind? Because Bran is definitely going to warg into a dragon. I just wrote a whole argument for why this is going to happen. I’m one of these crazy fans.

As though that wasn’t obvious by this point.

Make sure you watch the whole video to hear the explanation given for some of these theories (what the hell does wearing a polo shirt have to do with anything on Game of Thrones I’ll never know), as well as to see that some of the worst, most evil characters are brought to life by people that actually seem very pleasant in reality…or so they’d have you believe.

I still wouldn’t trust being left alone with Iwan Rheon (a.k.a. Ramsay Bolton). Not for all the gold in Qarth.

So what’s your favorite theory that you believe in? What’s your favorite theory that you think is completely crazy? Share them with us in the comments below.
