Do you have plans from October 25 – 31? No? Well, you do now. FXX announced the ultimate Halloween countdown with a marathon of all 25 The Simpsons‘ Treehouse of Horror episodes. They will air from 12pm — 12:30am ET/PT. Here at Nerdist, we think these are some of the best episodes of The Simpsons ever, because let’s face it, who doesn’t want to see their favorite Springfield family venture out of their comfort zone and fend off threats coming from every direction?

Remember the episode where Bart thinks there’s a creepy monster in the attic, but it turns out to be his evil twin, Hugo? Or the one that parodied Nightmare on Elm Street with Groundskeeper Willie (who has died many times in Treehouse of Horror episodes) taking on the role of Freddy Krueger, terrorizing children on the street? Or… the one that spoofed I Know What You Did Last Summer, where Homer accidentally runs over Ned Flanders, and then manipulates the body to look like an accident? The Treehouse of Horror episodes are also neat because they feature three separate, self-contained stories, so the normal continuity of the show is thrown out the window. And even more than that, it’s hysterical to see characters we love and know so well take on dangerous roles that they wouldn’t normally.
