There’s a pilot in the works for FX that’s been announced, with no concept announced and nothing else about it known. Oh, except for that it’s being produced and co-written by Louis C.K. And it’s been created by, and stars, Zach Galifianakis. Other than that… OTHER THAN THAT?!? Really, this is huge.

Deadline is reporting that the cable network ordered a pilot from Louie’s Pig Newton Productions as part of his overall deal signed last month, with Zach, Louie, Blair Breard, Dave Becky, Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz executive producing. With that kind of firepower, the concept, whatever it turns out to be, is beside the point. It’s going to be interesting and creative, and FX, based on the experience with Louie, is probably the ideal place for it. If they do what they did with the other show, and trust their creators’ instincts, this could turn out to be special. At least, Zach and Louie are worth the gamble, totally.
