FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME Takes Players to an Iconic Locale

All of our best Camp Crystal Lake memories revolve around surviving the wrath of the seemingly immortal slasher Jason Voorhees. Therefore, it’s fitting that the much-anticipated Friday the 13th: The Game is expanding Jason’s killing fields with another iconic location from the movie series.

At PAX East (via Polygon), Friday the 13th: The Game developers Gun Media revealed that a second map for the game will include Crystal Lake’s shore as well as Higgins Haven, a vacation home that was one of the primary settings of Friday the 13th: Part III. Higgins Haven was also seen in Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. Gun Media also released a new video that takes viewers through Higgins Haven before revealing another Jason kill that made it into the game.

Additionally, Friday the 13th: The Game designer and co-creator Ronnie Hobbs showed off a second video that introduces the game’s stealth mechanic. Basically, it gives players a chance to hide from Jason…and that tactic goes about as well as it normally does in the films.

The game will allow players to portray one of seven different camp counselors in addition to playing Jason himself as he relentlessly attempts to eliminate all of his potential victims.

Friday the 13th: The Game is expected to be released later this year.

What do you think about the game’s return to Higgins Haven? And are there any more iconic Jason kills that you want to see in the game? Let us know in the comment section below!
