Fred Savage to Direct Garfunkel & Oates IFC Series

You indeed read that headline right: Your childhood’s Kevin Arnold, Fred Savage, will be directing and executive producing your adulthood’s favorite musical comedy duo Garfunkel & Oates in their upcoming self-titled TV series at IFC.

Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci have had a television show following their exploits as Garfunkel & Oates in the works for a while now, ever since their brief series on HBO Go years ago. With IFC looking towards a late Summer premiere, the wait might be over, and the addition of veteran TV director Fred Savage, whose credits now include It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Party Down is a very good sign.

With all of this in mind, you might as well play “Six Degrees of The Wonder Years,” which could go something like this:

Kevin Arnold was, of course, played by Fred Savage who will direct and executive produce Garfunkel and Oates. Riki Lindhome, of said singing duo, is also the host of podcast Making It here at Nerdist, where Math Bites with Danica McKellar also has a home, of course, hosted by Danica McKellar, who played Winnie Cooper on… The Wonder Years. Boom.
