Fox Unevils Three New Clips From Monday’s All New GOTHAM

With a Season Two renewal now secured, we have a feeling things are about to get crazy on Fox’s Batman prequel series, Gotham. However, thus far, the show’s remained somewhat low-key… at least that was until last week’s episode that saw Jim rejoin the GCPD in order to catch the recently-escaped Arkham inmate Jack Buchinsky a/k/a “The Electrocutioner,” all while Don Falcone finally realized the truth behind his new “friend,” after which he immediately took care of things while taking Fish Mooney on a ride.

Now with the show set to continue this Monday, Fox has unveiled three brand new clips for fans to enjoy. Check them out:

So next week’s episode will, among other things, feature the return of Bruce Wayne which, honestly, kind of worries us. Since the show’s return, the episodes have felt a little tighter and cleaner with its Jim Gordon elements, and part of that has to do with the lack of Baby Bruce Wayne to fall back on. Instead of having Jim spend valuable time in each episode trying to track down the killer of Bruce’s parents (something we know isn’t going to happen until the season finale at the earliest), now we can just spend time with him as a man and watch his character develop in a more natural way. If the return of Bruce also means a return to the hunt for the Waynes’ killer then maybe we could have gone a few more episodes without him.

As for the two clips featuring Penguin, we will say we’re excited at the prospect of finally getting to watch Oswald rise to power in major ways following the events of the previous episode. With Fish out of the way, there’s nothing stopping him from gaining major control as Falcone’s right hand man, which will of course put him one step away from the throne – something we’ve wanted to see since the series began. If the show continues to progress the character like this, then we’ll keep tuning in as Young Penguin has actually become the series’ most compelling element.

Gotham airs Mondays at 8/7c on Fox.
