Found on the Web: A Haunted Mansion Horror Short

This is a very cool, very well done short film I happened upon whilst doing my normal YouTube rounds. It’s a found-footage ghost story shot in Disneyland, and specifically on the famous Haunted Mansion ride (one of the best rides of all time, still to this day). Made by the Daws Brothers, Missing in the Mansion is a part-guerrilla, part-recreated flick about what would happen if there really were 999 happy haunts in the park attraction.

Special commendation for the replication of the infamous Hatbox Ghost which, as legend has it, was removed from the ride after only a short stint.

Below is a nice making-of as well, just so you don’t get too scared.

I used to have a Haunted Mansion full-sized story book record when I was a kid. I listened to it all the time but kept a heavy book on top of it at night lest the ghosts escape. I came across some Haunted Mansion sound files on Napster when I was in school and the sounds, the music… made me feel only what I can describe as home sick.
