Since its 2012 VGA announcement, all’s been quiet on the Fortnite front, with Epic keeping mum about the status of their free-to-play co-op shooter.
Well, today, the Gears of War studio dropped a behind-the-scenes video on the making of Fortnite, while also teasing more details in the May Game Informer cover reveal.
Oh, and you can sign up for an invite to the game’s alpha.
The co-op shooter sees Epic dropping their signature, brawny Gears of War style for a game that mixes construction elements in with the combat. It’s kind of an extended “Horde” mode, where players will have to collect supplies near and around their base in order to fend off the waves of enemies that attack the fort at night.
See? Fortnite?
The game will also be proof of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 when it’s out in the wild. No word on when we can expect that to be, at this point, though.
