FORREST GUMP Gets the Wes Anderson Treatment and It’s Super-Duper Anderson-y

Like most of you out there in the world, any time something gets Wes Anderson-ified, we are generally wont to see it. And that goes doubly for A Chocolate Box Kind of Life, the hilariously twee and tonally appropriate opening credit parody of that iconic Oscar winner, Forrest Gump, if it had been made by Anderson himself.

Similar to the Saturday Night Live parody that came before it, Vimeo user Louis Paquet focused on minimalist imagery and precocious-feeling details to really bring Anderson’s vibe and general visuality to life. He even used the music of Mark Mothersbaugh, who’s frequently worked with Anderson on the scores of such films as Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, to create the perfect atmospheric experience. Our only complaint is that we wish we could’ve seen the imagined Anderson take on the characters themselves. Just imagine all the quirks!

What other films would you like to see Wes Anderson-ified? Let us know in the comments!

Most Wes Anderson intros get you to the film in less than a minute. This intro was wayyy too long.

Also, why not use a song from the Forest Gump soundtrack? Why steal the opening theme from Rushmore?

I guess I’ve seen too many Wes Anderson films too many times. 🙂
