The Alamo Drafthouse’s self-described “girlie weekend” of teen girl-levels of silly non-debauchery, Forever Fest, has finally released its line-up for their long-awaited 2014 venture. Add it’s chockablock with interesting and exciting things you’re probably going to want to see, like a Mean Girls reunion with Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Franzese, and so much more!
The pop-culture-palooza has a serious programming slate for its second year. Catering specifically to fans of female-centric films, books, and TV, festival founders Sarah Pitre and Brandy Fons have attempted to raise the bar on the obsession fête. Taking place November 14th – 16th at the newly renovated (that means its fancy!) Alamo Drafthouse, South Lamar, in Austin, Forever Fest has also branched out a bit, working with the so-called “greatest karaoke bar in the world,” The Highball.

Friday, November 14th
– Tenth Anniversary Screening of Mean Girls Quote-Along

4:30pm. “It’s like karaoke, but with dancing instead of singing! Local teams perform routines from dance movies and music videos while the scene plays behind them on the big screen.”
– Austin Premiere of Amira & Sam
7:30pm. “Featuring stars Martin Starr, Paul Wesley, Dina Shihabi and director Sean Mullin, Sam & Amira tells the story of Sam Seneca (Martin Starr), a former Green Beret who decides to take up stand-up comedy, but bonds with illegal immigrant Amira (Dina Shihabi) as she faces the realities of her potential deportation.
