In what has become an annual tradition, this Tuesday and Wednesday will mark the second crossover event between the CW’s superhero shows, The Flash and Arrow. Unlike last year, which were two self-contained stories, this year they go into a “full-on crossover mode,” meaning if you watch The Flash on Tuesday, you HAVE to watch Arrow on Wednesday to get the conclusion. (Most likely you would do that anyway.)
From the above promo, which aired on New Zealand television, it looks like we are going to get a more “comic book” version of a classic Flash/Green Arrow team-up, as Barry and Oliver seem to have more fun with each other. Last year, it was more of a “veteran/rookie” relationship, but the trust that’s needed for a successful team is finally there.
This year’s event will also be an introduction to characters from the new DC Legends of Tomorrow series, which premieres this January. Fans will get their first glimpses of the show’s main villain, Vandal Savage, as well as the CW Universe introduction of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Have no fear, Smallville fans’ Hawkman’s costume this time around is MUCH better than his first live-action go around (and MUCH is an understatement).
The Flash and Arrow both air at 8pm ET/PT on their respective nights.
So what do you think? Are you excited for this week’s crossover event? Are there any other heroes you’d like to see end up on Legends of Tomorrow? Why can’t Grant Gustin be the movie Flash? Let me know your theories on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
