First-Time Voters Share Why They’ll Vote This November

The single most important thing any American citizen can do to enact meaningful change is vote this November. It’s a responsibility that can be easy to take for granted, and sometimes it feels like a single ballot won’t make a difference. But for a whole new generation of people who weren’t old enough to vote in 2016, this is their opportunity to have their voices be heard, and they have a lot to say.

“Why Do You Vote?” is a video directed by Darren Aronofsky, who reached out to the Sierra Club only a few weeks ago in hopes of doing something to motivate young voters—who are always underrepresented at the polls—to show up for this year’s midterm election. In this video young activists and first-time voters from all over America share the many reasons each of them will be in line on Tuesday, November 6.

No matter your age and no matter how much you think it might not matter, it is always necessary to VOTE. And whether you’re a first-time voter or if you vote every chance you get, there are some easy and important steps you can take to guarantee your ballot counts on November 6. Here are some simple things you can do ahead of election day to ensure you can vote:
