Well, that ended up being a lot faster than anyone expected. We literally (litchrally) told you about Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s web series Con Man on Thursday and they had already more than tripled their goal of $425,000 with nearly the whole month left in the campaign. Who’d have thought Firefly fans–pardon me, BROWNCOATS–would be rabid and devoted enough to donate the GDP of a small island nation to a web series by, starring, and about two former Firefly cast members? 14 episodes and a movie and still going strong, folks. Shi-i-i-ny.
As a treat and a thank you to all those who donated, and a neat thing to watch for those who haven’t yet, a scene, a teaser if you will, was released on the project’s Indiegogo page. It depicts Tudyk’s character, Wray Nearly, the actor who played the pilot on the short-lived network TV sci-fi show Spectrum (cancelled far before its time) sitting on a toilet in an airport bathroom. The scene shows how he, unfortunately, can’t escape the series’ devotees even during a time in a man’s life that should never EVER be interrupted with talking.
I wonder how many times Alan Tudyk himself has had to sign pictures of Nathan Fillion’s face whilst attempting to enjoy some quiet dook time in a public lavatory…
The Indiegogo campaign for Con Man is still only a couple days old and they already have enough to fund ten 10-minute episodes. If they get to twelve, well, that’ll be two whole hours worth of content, won’t it? And with 28 more days, it seems very, very likely.
Why why WHY does Vimeo NEVER friggin work for me???? Just HOW long is this bastidge gonna freakin’ buffer?!?!??!?!
Fantastic! I feel like I am in on an inside joke!
This looks awesome, I love these guys and the Indiegogo pitch video is also awesome and I am totally freaking out right now, I am so happy.
Is that John DiMaggio as the second voice?
I thought him or Patton Oswald
rofl, if he could have flushed himself he probably would have by the halfway mark. Awesome work.
The is amazing
Just when I think I can’t love Alan Tudyk any more…
