First Look at Superman on SUPERGIRL, AMERICAN HORROR STORY Teases, and More TV News

Supergirl’s well known super-powered cousin is dropping by for his first appearance in season two of the show, and we have your first look at Tyler Hoechlin as the hero. That’s not all in today’s TV-Cap. Get your eyes and ears ready because we also have several interviews from our Camp Conival stage at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), some follow-up on that Gilmore Girls tease, a Mr. Robot easter egg, and so much more.

Super Relatives! After getting to know Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, through chat windows and mentions on the first season of Supergirl, the iconic hero is coming to the series. Tyler Hoechlin is playing Superman, and a new picture shows Supergirl and Superman side by side looking fierce as hell. Hoechlin will also be seen as Clark Kent, and we know for sure he’ll show up in the season two premiere on October 10. [Nerdist, Image: The CW]

Turn Back the Clock. Are you ready to go back to the ’90s on MTV? They’re going to revive the past for their upcoming 35th anniversary by launching MTV Classic. I’m going to disregard the fact that we’re calling shows that aired in the 1990s “classic.” The event will turn VH1 into MTV Classic and will screen series such as Daria, Beavis & Butt-head, Cribs, and more. Oh, and there will be old school music videos. This all begins on August 1. [Nerdist]

Uncovering Clues. Sherlock dropped by Camp Conival at SDCC–well, not the actual Sherlock, but the execs and Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson). They talked to Alicia about the grave business ahead, and you can check it out in the above video. [Nerdist]

Officially Happening. One of the aspects about Stranger Things that has caught the attention of fans is the music. If you like the score, you’ll be happy to know an official soundtrack is “coming soon.” Just be patient. [Nerdist]

This Is Too Far Away. Speaking of being patient, we’re gonna have to hold on for a while to get more new episodes of Jessica Jones and Daredevil. Natalie Abrams from Entertainment Weekly reported from the Television Critics Association press tour and noted the second and third seasons of those shows, respectively, are going to have to wait until after Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders drop. That makes sense, but it means we’re going to be waiting until 2018. I want it all right now, is that so much to ask? [Nerdist]

Gods Old and New. Cast members and creators behind Starz’s American Gods talked to Nerdist at SDCC, and my oh my, I can’t wait for this show. I was especially excited to hear them talk about how the adaptation has new discoveries. Get all the scoop in the above interview. [Nerdist]

Centaurs! Season two of The Magicians won’t drop until 2017, but Syfy brought a teaser to SDCC. Watch that and then head this way to read about what Samantha learned when she interviewed the cast and creators.

Survivors. Dan Casey kept the survivors of The Walking Dead safe while he chatted with them at Camp Conival at SDCC. He didn’t get any spoilers out of them, but they did talk about the development of the world and the tiger that will appear in season seven. Watch it above. [Nerdist]

Gilmore Girls Follow-Up. John Oliver talked to Stephen Colbert recently about politics, and Colbert took a moment to ask him about that moment in the Gilmore Girls teaser where Lorelai asked if John Oliver would find her hot. Oliver told Colbert that yes, he does find her hot. And also, about that teaser, series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said it was made for promo and is not part of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. She’s a wily one. [TVLine]

Different Threats. The second season of Syfy’s The Expanse will bring in new dangers. Samantha spoke with the cast and crew of the show about what’s ahead–including the introduction of a character from the books, Bobbie Draper. You can get all the info here at Nerdist.

Chat Perspective. Wednesday’s Mr. Robot, “init1.asec,” featured a cool easter egg–something Mr. Robot has done before. When Elliot chats with Darlene in an IRC, the IP address 192.251.68.249 shows up. If you follow that, it leads to http://irc.colo-solutions.net/. There you’ll see the same IRC chat, but from Darlene’s perspective. Enter the same information as Darlene did in the episode, and you get a little more information from Elliot. Lesson: If an IP address shows up in the USA series, follow it and see what happens.

Bugs, Blood, Etc. Season six of American Horror Story will debut on Fox on September 14. We don’t know the subtitle for the season yet, but maybe you can piece it together from six new short teasers. And I do mean short. Watch them and let us know if you have any guesses:

What do you think of Superman’s costume? Are you as pumped about American Gods as we are? Let me know in the comments.
