First Look at STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Toys

The excitement for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens certainly hasn’t died down at all for us here at Nerdist, and with every new picture, casting announcement, or bit of information, our intergalactic salivary glands kick into hyperdrive. But almost nothing has us chomping (or champing) at the proverbial bit more than the idea of brand new toys coming out.

And now we have our first look at three of them. Entertainment Weekly released the official images of the first few Force Awakens toys that will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and true to form, they’re playing everything especially close to the chest. The three toys are all representations of the redesigned First Order Stormtrooper, from three different companies in their own distinct style.

The first is a LEGO buildable Stormtrooper, comprised of 81 pieces and standing 9 inches tall when completed. This toy won’t be released for purchase until January 1, 2016, but it will be available to look at at SDCC.

One you CAN buy when you’re there is a Hasbro 6-inch figure from their Black Series of collectibles. The packaging is limited to San Diego Comic-Con and a small number will be available to purchase after the convention via HasbroToyShop.com. This’ll run you $24.99.

Finally, we have Mattel’s Hot Wheels Stormtrooper-inspired miniature vehicle. True to the company’s general rule, these cars don’t feature in the movie at all, but does give an artistic representation of the character.

The gallery of these toys can be found below.

Now, obviously, these are just the first three; we can surely expect many, many more action figures and vehicles in the months leading up to the December 18th release of the film. A Poe Dameron with an X-Wing? A Finn in his own Stormtrooper outfit with removable helmet? Rey riding that awesome speeder? Kylo Renn looking terrifying? And that’s just based entirely on the teasers we’ve already seen! What more awesome stuff can we hope to get when more information is known?

We will keep you posted on any and all future Star Wars toys. Let us know what you think of these first three below!
