First Look at Carrie Fisher’s IRL Daughter, Billie Lourd, in THE FORCE AWAKENS

When Billie Lourd, the young daughter of Star Wars alum Carrie Fisher, was cast to play a part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there were plenty of rumors that followed. Some wondered if she would play a young Leia Organa in a flashback sequence, while others wondered if JJ Abrams and crew would be so obvious as to cast Lourd as Leia’s daughter in the film.

So far, both of these rumors have been squashed by both the filmmaker and Lourd herself, but now we finally have a look at her Star Wars appearance thanks to PEOPLE Magazine:

While it has been said that Lourd’s character is not directly related to General Leia, it is obvious that they wanted to make a nod to the familial ties of the actors with that hairstyle. The second picture that PEOPLE showcased gives us a better idea of Lourd’s place in the film, but not any real clues to the character:

Alongside the new droid PZ-4CO, Lourd appears to be helping the Resistance from the same bunker that Leia is seen in during most of the trailers and TV spots for the film. So, while Lourd and Fisher may not be playing relatives in the film, they are at least working closely with each other. This reveal, as well as her hairstyle, could not be timed better after the season finale of FOX’s Scream Queens also saw Lourd’s character, Chanel No.3, donning a familiar hairstyle.

We now have less than 10 days before all questions about The Force Awakens are answered. What are your theories on Billie Lourd’s chracter? Will they try to tie her into a bigger story, or could she simply be yet another Resistance member? Let us know in the comments below!
