PlayStation kicked of their PSX Keynote in the best possible way: giving everyone the first look at gameplay from Final Fantasy VII Remake. My ears are still ringing from how loud everyone was screaming when this showed on the big screen. This is the first time we’ve seen the game in action since its official unveiling back during E3, so the extreme reaction to this was definitely well warranted. But enough of me rambling; check out the trailer for yourself right above:
Folks afraid that the gameplay would be modernized to all hell can now relax, as the turn-based style clearly appears to be making a return– though it also appears to be slightly tweaked. The trailer showcases Cloud and friends doing their thing, and we also receive a first look at one of the main characters, all remastered in glorious high-definition:

No other details were revealed about the game, but from the looks of what was shown, the project’s development is coming along quite nicely. It looks amazing — comparable to what I would call a playable Advent Children. We’ll be keeping our ear to the doors here at PSX for more on this hotly anticipated title!
