Let’s face it: in the time it takes to utter the warning, “In space, no one can hear you scream,” a xenomorph could have already descended from the ceiling and made you its dinner, or cocoon base. The new teaser poster for Alien: Covenant, as discovered by io9 on Fox’s Twitter, is much more economical and to the point: Run.
Not that there was ever much doubt with the word “Alien” in the title, but now we have visual proof that the familiar creatures will be appearing in the sequel to Prometheus. Because of the tinting and shadows, it’s hard to tell if they’re going to be a paler color as has been rumored, and while we can see the mouth is close to what we’re used to, there’s no telling yet if the body will look more like the “Deacon” monster we saw at the end of Prometheus.
We do know that Noomi Rapace will be returning, and that Michael Fassbender will be playing more than one android this time around. Presumably the Engineers will still be a factor, and possibly meet their horrible end at the hands, er, claws of their creations. Then maybe, just maybe, we’ll see the xenos’ home planet at last.
