Being passionate for a book or television series is one thing; Taking it upon yourself to learn a new language that appears in said series is something else entirely. I know I’m not alone in my desire to learn Dothraki, and though there’s not a Rosetta Stone package featuring the language from Game of Thrones, there is a glorious Muzzy parody video.
Muzzy was a furry character created by BBC in the 1980s, and he’s been teaching multiple languages ever since. The commercials for the language learning packages are typical of the time period, and Nacho Punch has recreated the first Muzzy commercial almost shot by shot – right down to the clothes and hairstyles. Instead of learning French, though, the children in this commercial learn Dothraki. They’ll be speaking like Khal Drogo in no time!
Though there’s plenty to giggle at in the video, I appreciate all the small touches. You not only receive videos and cassette tapes to help you with your Dothraki studies, you get scrolls. And, of course the mailing address is in the Seven Kingdoms. If you get through the Dothraki course, you can also learn Valyrian, Hodor, and White Walker. I’m wishing these language packages were real.
If you could speak any of the languages heard in Westeros and beyond, which would you choose? Let us know in the comments.

Now Jayson, it’s cool to find fault with any or every rap album. And hell, feel free to write about it — that’s why the keys are there. But really man, roll your shdueolrs a bit…get those kinks out — relax — ain’t a black guy gonna jump through the window and knife you in the kidney if you write in plain English that his brother can’t rap past a 6.8. You do realize this far more affected and unreadable than any crimes your subject may have committed? You’re not totally wrong; some of what is written here is shit. But the whole writing like a fan and being clever things that you’re trying here? It’s actually harder to read and is worse for talking about music. Perhaps you should find a better project, because you’re really not the right person to do this one.
Really your video helped me very much for learn. I’m really happy to read your article and learn many new things. Thanks for sharing with us!

Living Language is doing an official How To Speak Dothraki course, coming later this year.
The First Men language would be intriguing, though I would go straight to the swear words sections.
