FANTASTIC FEST is Coming: Here’s Everything You Need to Know to Get Ready

Few things are worth looking forward to more than Alamo Drafthouse’s ultimate celebration of all things genre and generally fantastic, the as-such named Fantastic Fest. The Austin, Texas festival for fans of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, and action films has long been a destination for avid cinephiles in the states for years, and it only continues to get bigger and better as the years go on. Which, naturally, makes us very excited to be heading down there yet again to cover all the madness for you.

But what, you may be asking, is Fantastic Fest all about? Well, we’ve got that covered for you, too: we came up with a highly informative video (see above) explaining what, exactly, the festival is all about. And if that weren’t enough: we’re sending our very own Clarke Wolfe down to Austin for the cinematic hootenanny to cover all the premieres, screenings, creepily themed escape rooms, and beat-’em-up debate battles set to play out over the course of the eight day festival. So be sure to be on the lookout for all the posts, videos, and social media updates ready to come your way here and on our Facebook page.

Because there’s a lot going on down in Austin that’s sure to get you excited, including screenings of The Greasy Strangler, American Honey, Arrival, Rats, and even a live recording of Leonard Maltin’s Maltin on Movies podcast with Tim Burton!

Are you heading down to Fantastic Fest? Have you checked out the schedule yet (click here to see it all, if not)? Let us know in the comments below!
