Day 2 of Austin’s annual Fantastic Fest had the prerequisite amount of movies and mayhem. Our own Clarke Wolfe was on hand for the whole thing, including the Secret Screening of Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak (watch our interview with Mr. del Toro right here). Clarke also sat down with writer-director Jeremy Saulnier and actor Macon Blair about their new gory horror film Green Room where a punk band gets trapped in a club with neo-Nazi skinheads. The two of them teamed up for the brilliant and brutal Blue Ruin, don’t ya know. One more color-named film and they’ll be the new Kieslowski.
And, it wouldn’t be Fantastic Fest without the famous debates, where two people have a discussion about a topic and then punch each other senseless in a boxing match to settle things the Old Fashioned way. All in good fun, of course.
