FANTASTIC BEASTS 2 Trailer Goes Back to Hogwarts

Fantastic: Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald might be the next installment of another famous story in the wizarding world, but the movie’s first trailer opens up with a place Harry Potter fans know quite well. Because when the world is threatened by a Dark Wizard it always make sense to go see Professor Dumbledore at Hogwarts.

Today Warner Bros. released the first full look at the film, and it opens with a much younger Professor Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, being questioned about why Newt Scamander is heading to Paris. Never one to give up his secrets though, Dumbledore isn’t exactly forthcoming with what he knows–or what he has planned. Although we get to see is that while he isn’t able or willing to face his old friend Grindewald yet, he’s ready to have Newt do it for him. Because the time is coming for those in the magical world to choose sides for the great war that is coming.

We were expecting a teaser for the film, but there’s a lot more going on here than just the relationship between Newt and Dumbledore. We get to see most of the cast, old and newcomers alike, but most important might be the shot of Ezra Miller’s Credence, who has learned how to control his Obscurus. Considering how powerful it is when it’s not under control, that could make him more dangerous depending on which side he aligns with.

No wonder the wizarding world is turning to Dumbledore for help. He does always know what to do.
