Who would be the best actor to take on the unique challenge of voicing the lovable Pikachu in the NA release of Great Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Duo? If you’re a person on the internet, we’re likely to all agree on the answer.
Because the hive mind has quickly decided the best man for the job is Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor, Danny DeVito. Fan Sairith Aramor started a Change.org petition in hopes of convincing Nintendo of America to enlist the aforementioned star to provide the voice for the new crime-solving Pikachu. And, of course, the petition has already garnered a heck of a lot of traction over the last few days.
“There are a number of us that feel as though Danny DeVito would be a prime fit for the voice acting role of the Detective Pikachu. We want to make this happen,” the petition states. And many, it seems, agree.
So far, 22,968 people have agreed DeVito would be perfect for the roleâand that number continues to rise. Soon, Nintendo will have no choice but to acknowledge the petition (at the very minimum), and hopefully give the role to its rightful heir.
But if you still don’t think DeVito would be the best choice, allow TealHollow1 to convince you otherwise. The YouTuber added the actor’s voice to the recently released Japanese trailer for the game, and it’s absolutely perfect. This is no longer a joke, folks, the time to sign the petition is now!
What do you think about the possibility of DeVito being the new voice of Pikachu? Have you signed the petition? Do you think there is any chance that Nintendo will actually take the petition into account? Let us know in the comments below!
