Fans Get a Chance to Be in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

Prepare for your close-up because you could have a part in Star Wars: Episode VII. J.J. Abrams recorded a video message to fans from the set in Abu Dhabi and introduced a new initiative called Star Wars: Force for Change. The project is a collaboration between Disney and Lucasfilm and Bad Robot, and the purpose is “finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.” They’re kicking it off with a campaign to raise money and awareness for UNICEF Innovation Labs, and that’s where Episode VII comes into the picture.

To get the opportunity to win a grand prize that puts you in the film, you only have to make a $10 contribution through Omaze. Each $10 contribution is worth one entry into the contest. Think of all the people who would do anything to be part of Episode VII. This is a creative way to raise enough funds to make an impact and setting the bar at $10 minimizes the barriers to entry. See what J.J. has to say about Star Wars: Force for Change in the following video:

As he mentions, the winner of the drawing scores big time. A run-down of the prizes: Airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest, behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams, winner will have the opportunity to meet members of the cast, and the winner and their guest will then be transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII.

You can enter the contest at Omaze until 11:59pm PST July 18th.

Another fantastic thing about this video? You get a peek at what’s happening in Abu Dhabi, and you can see an interesting alien design. Yay puppets! Seeing the clapperboard was an exciting reassurance that Episode VII is really happening, and this gives me goose bumps.

Will you be contributing to get the chance to appear in Episode VII? Let us know in the comments.
