FANGIRLING Interviews TWILIGHT Director Catherine Hardwicke and Busts Horror Tropes

Fangirling is Nerdist’s celebration of all things fandom. We’re bringing you some of the newest voices across technology, science, gaming, entertainment, and more for deep discussions you won’t find anywhere else. We invite anyone with nerdy passions to join us in the joy of pop culture and fandom every week.

It’s never too early to start celebrating All Hallows’ Eve! Nerdist partakes in the happiness of Halloween all month long with Nerdoween, highlighting some of the spookiest, scariest, and spoopiest movies, books, television series, games, and more. Fangirling joined in the Halloween fun in this week’s spooktacular episode.

Fangirling hosts Markeia McCarty and Dani Fernandez are joined by guest hosts Erika Ishii (Geek & Sundry) and Riley Silverman (Nerdist) this week and kick off the show with a chat about their favorite horror movies.

Then, Nerdist‘s Amy Vorpahl feels like she’s in a horror movie when she braves the Trick ‘r Treat maze at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Safe and sound back at Fangirling HQ, Jessica Chobot (Vogue Leader) stops by for another “take my money now” edition of The Nerdist Lookbook. Alex Monroe x Doctor Who jewelry, Musterbrand’s Marvel collection, and RockLove’s Snow White Poison Apple Ring are all on the list of what’s caught Jessica’s eye this week.

And you don’t want to miss the hosts spinning the Wheel of Horror, busting horror movie tropes (literally), and revealing what currently has them fangirling. Also! Nerdist editor-in-chief Rachel Heine conducts a retrospective interview with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. Watch the interview:

Twilight is in theaters on October 21st and 23rd and out on 4K on October 23rd.

Don’t miss new episodes of Fangirling every Thursday on Facebook, Alpha, and right here on Nerdist. New Alpha members, use the code FANGIRLING for a 60-day trial.
