Fan Art Friday #64 – Finn from THE FORCE AWAKENS

The end of January is nigh, which means we’re finishing up our Fan Art Friday features for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We’ve rounded up all kinds of illustrations from artists featuring Rey, Poe Dameron, and Kylo Ren, and it’s Finn’s turn to step into the spotlight. Formerly known as FN-2187, Finn (John Boyega) was taken by the First Order at birth and programmed to become an elite stormtrooper. He was a model trooper during training, but when he headed into his first battle on Jakku at the beginning of the film, he realized the First Order wasn’t for him.

He escaped the First Order with the help of Poe Dameron and his actions led him to Rey, which led him to the Resistance. We barely dipped into his backstory and motivations, but he showed a little bit of Han Solo’s attitude from A New Hope. Finn wasn’t in it for the money, but he was in it for himself. By the end of the film though, he’d warmed up to helping the Resistance–especially his new pal Rey. He’s eager, funny, and adds an interesting dynamic to the new trilogy.

And now, Finn fan art!
